Barack Obama sending Hurricane Harvey victims blankets that were infested with bedbugs is fake news. There is no truth to a story that the former U.S. president sent aid to those in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey that was in the form of bedbug covered blankets.

Where did this fake news originate? Americas Last Line of Defense published the story on Aug. 30, 2017, reporting that Obama had provided the infested blankets to those suffering from the devastation that was Hurricane Harvey. You can read the fake news below.

On Saturday, it was announced that former President (can we call him that if he actually didnt do anything?) Obama sent blankets for Hurricane Harvey victims.

The liberal media, as you might remember, played this up as the greatest humanitarian act in the history of humanitarian acts, but theres just one tiny problem. OK, many tiny problems.

On Wednesday, the day after they were distributed, photos began rolling in of people who had used the blankets and its not pretty:

If those look like bedbug bites to you, they are. The whole shipment of blankets Obama sent to these people who have clearly been through enough is infested with the nasty little insects.

Officials worked quickly to round up the blankets, but many hurricane refugees were forced to discard what little clothing they were able to bring with them and their other possessions in an effort to stop the spread.

We appreciate that President Obama wanted to help, but this is not the way to do it, a FEMA official told Breitbart. He really should have had the blankets checked before distributing them. Thats elementary.

Obama has so far been silent about what he did to these people, though it is doubtful he actually feels bad.

Meanwhile, President Trump actually visited with victims of the Hurricane, providing comfort to families who have lost everything.

Here are some examples of people sharing the fake news on social media.

However, there is no truth to the above story. Of course, no major media outlet picked up on this alleged news. Last Line of Defense is fake news site. Its disclaimer states the following:

Obama thanked first responders and local officials helping in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, saying: Thank you to all the first responders and people helping each other out. Thats what we do as Americans. Heres one way you can help now, Obama tweeted, linking to an American Red Cross tweet soliciting donations.
